This morning Commissioner Rob Klee of CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) joined local school children from Dr. Martin Luther King Elementary School at Keney Park in Hartford where he and the children stocked the community fishing water with trout in preparation for the opening day of trout season this Saturday, April 14 at 6:00 am sharp.

Grant Funds Available for Marine Pumpout Programs to Protect Waters of Long Island Sound
Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) today announced that approximately $1 million in federal funds is anticipated to be available for boat sewage disposal facilities, or pumpout stations, on Long Island Sound and Candlewood Lake for the 2019 boating season, contingent upon the receipt of requested federal funds.

EnCon Police Arrest Suspect for Possession of Venomous Snakes
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s (DEEP) State Environmental Conservation Police (EnCon), with the assistance of Meriden Police, on Thursday, April 26, 2018 served a search and seizure warrant at 22 Westfield Rd. Meriden, CT after information was obtained from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service regarding an advertisement on a snake forum for the sale of several venomous snakes.

DEEP Extends Deadline for Seaside State Park Proposals
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) today announced that the agency is extending the deadline for the submission of proposals from Friday, July 27, 2018 to Friday, August 24, 2018.
